Nature is our example

Nature is our example – all our products are hand-made and modeled on natural rocks, driftwood or marine animals. Back to Nature has almost 30 years of experience in developing and manufacturing aquarium backgrounds and modules.

Decoration for every aquarium type

We create underwater landscapes for all aquarium sizes. Flat, endless Slimline backgrounds or opulent 3D aquarium backgrounds with an incredible depth, individual modules or gigantic landscapes: We have a solution for every aquarium size.

Our large modules and giant pieces of driftwood even allow you to create individual layouts in a large tank or a jungle-themed vivarium. Experienced aquascapers like Oliver Knott like using Slimline backgrounds and modules to create a new combination of Back to Nature products and classic aquascaping.

Plug and play for the use under water

In contrast to the products of other companies, the backgrounds and modules from Back to Nature needn’t be covered with epoxy resin. The application of epoxy can severely damage your health and takes a lot of time.

Our products are plug and play – you can use them in your freshwater aquarium or marine tank as well as in your terrarium without the necessity for prior treatment. Back to Nature backgrounds have a practically unlimited useful life. Some of our prototypes from 1989, when the company was founded, are still in use, without showing any signs of deterioration.

Hardy, robust materials

The extremely stable surface is enormously robust. Not even the sharp claws of reptiles like turtles or lizards nor rasping algae-eaters like suckermouth plecs have a negative effect on the sturdy surface.

It is especially hardened and even allows you to give your background or module a good scrub with whichever cleaning brush you choose.

Coloration

No natural rock looks like the other, and since we use natural pigments for our surfaces, sometimes the colors can differ slightly. Especially the red and grey pigments tend to vary naturally.

Inside the aquarium you won’t notice the color differences after a few days, though. Biofilms and natural patina, slight stains in the water and the aquarium lights will equalize these slight differences in color. We will therefore keep using natural raw materials, just as our motto says: “Back to Nature“.
